What is Chair Yoga?

Any number of common Yoga postures can be modified to be practiced, also breathing techniques, meditation, and stage-by-stage relaxation, with the aid of a chair. Standing postures, such as Triangle and Warrior variations, can be practiced seated or standing, and you can also practice Sun Salutations or Vinyasa, (flowing postures), from seated or standing positions. Designed to build energy, posture, balance and flexibility, the exercises presented in the Level 1 (Beginners), 45 minute, STRETCH.chairyoga DVD, Level 2 (Advanced Beginners) and Level 3 (Intermediate) involve a variety of low impact stretching, strengthening and breathing routines, still while seated or chair-assisted standing.
The exercise programs Patricia personally conducts in these DVDs are presented in a comfortable living room setting, rather than in a studio, since the users tend to be home bodies, whether working at home or retired, who will be practicing these exercises themselves in a home setting.

Patricia’s STRETCH.chairyoga DVD’s are each approximately 45 minutes long, purposely, so as to respond to the users’ needs for:
1. adequate warm-up time, to avoid injury;
